How To Get Involved

Get Involved!

It might be cliché but it really does take a village to accomplish the most good. We need you! If you would like to be an advocate for lowering substance abuse consider learning more about Vibrant Future Coaltion. We need parents, business people, educators, law enforcement, medical professionals and youth to name but a few. Your voice and ideas will grow this community coalition to new heights and allow us to do more prevention work in the North Clackamas and Milwaukie area.

Please help us succeed by joining Vibrant Future Coalition. You can make a difference in your community!

Here are some ways you can become involved:

Attend a monthly coalition meeting: We normally meet the 4th Wednesday of every month from 12:30-1:45 at Northwest Family Services (6200 SE King Rd. Portland OR 97222). Please check back on the website each month for possible changes of dates and location. Lunch is provided so if possible please let us know you will be coming.

Volunteer: There are also opportunities to volunteer for special Coalition campaigns and projects. If interested, please send us an e-mail and we'll let you know about opportunities to serve. Of course, if you have an idea for a project to prevent and reduce underage drinking and substance abuse, we'd love to hear from you!

Talk to kids about alcohol and drugs: And the earlier you start talking, the better! According to DrugFree.org, of those teens who reported alcohol use, a majority (62 percent) said they had their first full alcoholic drink by age 15, not including sipping or tasting alcohol. Of those teens who reported alcohol use, one in four (25 percent), said they drank a full alcoholic drink for the first time by age 12 or younger. Talk early. Talk often. It's great prevention. Donate: Vibrant Future Coalition is a part of the non profit Northwest Family Services with tax ID# . Your tax deductible donations fund additional opportunities for us to educate the community about the dangers of substance abuse.

Start conversations on our Facebook page: The Vibrant Future Facebook page is one way we can engage with one another and share information. Help us keep this important information top of mind by posting conversation starters.

You choose how much time you'd like to spend as a volunteer member. Every minute counts!
